Producer Profile
Osbourne Ruddock, known as King Tubby, is the father of dub music, transforming Jamaican recording studios into live performance instruments by stripping down existing reggae recordings to their rhythmic essence and adding cavernous echo and reverb effects. His primitive but revolutionary studio at Waterhouse in Kingston gave birth to remix culture. His techniques influenced every genre that followed.
