Producer Profile
Eduardo Palmieri is a Bronx-born Puerto Rican pianist and bandleader who brought avant-garde jazz harmonics into salsa and Latin soul, creating a sound that was simultaneously more adventurous and more raw than his contemporaries. His 1970s albums on Coco Records — Unfinished Masterpiece, Lucumí, Macumba y Palo — are pinnacles of the Latin soul tradition. He has won nine Grammy Awards.
