Producer Profile
Clement Seymour Dodd, known as Sir Coxsone Dodd, founded Studio One in Kingston in 1963, the label that essentially created Jamaican popular music. He produced or released the first recordings of Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, Alton Ellis, and dozens more. Studio One is the Motown of reggae — the training ground and standard-setter for everything that followed.
