Producer Profile
Richard Allen Mitchell, known as Blue Mitchell, was a lyrical and swinging hard bop trumpeter whose Riverside and Blue Note recordings sit at the warmest end of the hard bop tradition. His work with Horace Silver's quintet in the 1960s produced some of the most listenable jazz of the era, and his funky soul-jazz records are beloved by sample hunters.
