Horace Swaby, known as Augustus Pablo, created some of the most meditative and spiritually resonant music in reggae through his use of the melodica as a lead instrument over deep, bass-heavy dub productions. His work with King Tubby on King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown is a masterpiece of dub. His East of the River Nile sound is immediately recognisable.
