ABOUT
Stuart Baker founded Soul Jazz Records in London in 1992, initially as a record shop before launching a reissue label that has become one of the most important archivists of funk, reggae, jazz, and global music. Soul Jazz's compilations — from Studio One selections to Brazilian funk and African electronic music — have made previously inaccessible recordings available to new audiences of producers and collectors. The label continues to release new original music alongside its archival work.
