ABOUT

Rob Sevier and Ken Shipley founded the Numero Group in Chicago in 2003, establishing the most meticulous and design-conscious archival label in American music. Numero specializes in recovering forgotten artists from obscure regional labels — particularly soul, funk, gospel, and country releases that were pressed in tiny quantities and never distributed beyond their local markets. Every Numero release is accompanied by extensive liner notes and original photography, treating rediscovered artists with the scholarly attention their work deserves.

PRODUCER NOTES

Numero releases are among the most practically useful in the archival label landscape — the label actively seeks out recordings that have never been sampled, which means every release represents genuinely new source material. The Eccentric Soul compilations alone are worth exploring track by track.
