Two new ways to dig: the monthly flip and a 52-week journey around the world

3 min read·3 November 2026

Random digging is great until you open CrateDrop and do not know where to start. So there are now two small structures to dig inside: one record a month for everyone to flip, and one stop a week on a journey through 52 countries and decades.

The monthly flip

At the start of each month CrateDrop picks one record from the ones diggers saved most, leaning towards older records that flip well. November's is Phyllis Nelson, Move Closer (1984). Flip it into a beat, a chop, a remix or a DJ blend, post it on your own YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, SoundCloud or Bandcamp, and paste the link on the flip page.

  • One entry per account per month. A new link replaces your old one.
  • At the end of the month we listen to everything and pick one winner.
  • The winner gets a year of CrateDrop Pro and is featured on the flip page.

The dig journey

The journey is 52 stops, one a week: 1970s Brazil, 1960s reggae from Jamaica, 1970s Nigeria, 1980s Japan, 1970s Ethiopia and on through Turkey, Ghana, Peru, Indonesia, Iran and more. Everyone is on the same stop each week, and you can catch up on any stop you missed.

Press Dig this stop and CrateDrop opens with that country and decade set. When you land on something good, rate it under the player and the stop is yours. Your journey page fills in as you go, and you can share how far you got.

Without an account your stops are kept in your browser. Log in and they move to your account, so they follow you to every device.
